Château La Patache was acquired in 2012 by Peter Kwok and his son Howard. Mr. Kwok is a real right bank lover and Patache is one of his three estates – he is also the owner of Château Haut Brisson and Château Tour Saint Christophe, both in Saint-Émilion. “Patache” is the locality’s name. It was an old way station on the road between Bordeaux to Lyon. At the end of the XIXth century, the great potential of Saint-Émilion’s and Pomerol’s wines was discovered. Château La Patache is a small estate, but its terroir is unique with soils that boast huge variety and complexity, including fine gravels with iron-rich clay in the subsoil.
Chateau La Patache is best paired with all types of classic meat dishes, veal, pork, beef, lamb, duck, game, roast chicken, roasted, braised and grilled dishes. Chateau La Patache is also good with Asian dishes, hearty fish courses like tuna, mushrooms and pasta.
